Additional Information

Baptism This is the only Hayes baptism recorded in Cardington in this register and James gives his birth place as Campton on 1851 census (no possible baptism found for him in Campton register). Possible that Elizabeth, who was unwed went to Cardington to give birth to save face, or that she was working in Cardington when she fell pregnant? She is recorded as receiving parish relief in the baptism register.
Census (1) He was living with Elizabeth Hayes, aged 70; probably his mother.
